Email that reads like a letter
Lekamail puts letters from the people you love first and tucks receipts and newsletters into their own tray. Postcards, voice letters, time capsules. Free forever.
How does Lekamail know which emails are letters?
It looks at how a message was sent, never at what it says. Mail from a real person’s mailbox, written to you, is a letter. Anything sent through a mailing system (receipts, newsletters, shipping updates, sign-in codes) goes to Everything else. If we ever get one wrong, tap “This is a letter” or “Not a letter” once and we remember that sender for good.
Will I miss something important, like a bank alert or a delivery?
No. Everything else is sorted into Receipts, Updates and Read later, and it’s one tap away in the sidebar and in every search. Security alerts and one-time codes are marked Needs attention, so they stay visible without ever feeling like a letter from a friend.
What does a postcard look like to someone who isn’t on Lekamail?
A proper card, right in their inbox: your photo on the front, your note in handwriting-style type, your stamp in the corner. It works in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and everything else. A private link opens the full-size photo, and you can switch that link off at any time.
What happens to a time capsule if I change my email, or Lekamail closes?
Capsules are sealed and stored apart from your everyday mail, with their own backup. If a recipient changes address, they can claim the capsule later with the code we send them today. And if Lekamail ever closes, we deliver every sealed capsule early, with a note explaining why, at least 90 days before we shut the doors.
Can my grandparents hear a voice letter without installing anything?
Yes. A voice letter arrives as an ordinary email with a play button and the full transcript underneath. Tap play and it runs in any browser. Nothing to download, no account to create, and the transcript means they can read along if the volume is low.
Is Postcard really free? What’s the catch?
There isn’t one. Postcard is free forever, not a trial: your @lekamail.com address, 10 GB, the Letters view, ten postcards a month, two-minute voice letters and one time capsule. No ads, ever. It’s paid for by the people on Letter and Parcel who want more room, their own domain or a plan for the whole family.
Does anyone read my letters to sort them?
No person and no process reads your letters to sort them. Sorting uses sender and header signals only. We strip tracking pixels before a message opens, never sell data, never build advertising profiles, and your mail is encrypted in transit and at rest in the region you choose: the US or the EU.
How long does it take to bring my old email over?
Most mailboxes are home in under an hour; a decade of Gmail can take an evening. Pick Gmail, Outlook or iCloud, sign in, and we copy your mail, contacts and folders in the background while you carry on writing. Turn on forwarding and letters sent to your old address still find you.
