Lekamail uses two strictly necessary cookies to sign you in and remember your data region. No advertising, analytics or social media cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They can remember things between visits, such as the fact that you are signed in.
This policy explains the cookies used on lekamail.com and in the Lekamail web app by Lekamail, Inc. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Browsing lekamail.com
Our public website sets no cookies at all until you sign in. Reading about Lekamail, checking our plans or browsing the help centre leaves nothing behind in your browser.
Because we don’t use tracking cookies, you won’t see a cookie banner from us.
Cookies we use
lk_session keeps you signed in and protects your session against forgery. It lasts until you close your browser, or for up to 30 days if you tick “Keep me signed in”. It is strictly necessary.
lk_region remembers which data region you chose, the United States or the European Union, so we connect you to the right servers. It lasts 12 months. It is strictly necessary.
Both cookies are first-party, marked Secure and HttpOnly, and never shared with anyone else.
What we don’t use
No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no social media cookies and no third-party cookies of any kind, on this website or in the app.
We don’t use other tracking technologies either, such as pixels, fingerprinting or local storage identifiers. And we strip tracking pixels from the mail you receive.
Other storage in the app
The Lekamail apps may keep a local copy of recent mail and your preferences on your device so they open quickly and work offline. This stays on your device, and is removed when you sign out.
Your choices
Strictly necessary cookies don’t need your consent under privacy laws such as the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, but you are always in control. You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. If you block them, you won’t be able to sign in to the web app until you allow them again.
Signing out removes lk_session straight away.
Changes and contact
If we ever add a cookie, we will update this page first, and ask for your consent where the law requires it. We will never add advertising cookies.
